Score features an amazing cast of musician/actors - Tony Jozef, Joshua Anderson, Shane LadyMoon and Matt Houston - who will perform three short music-driven plays: Cases, Maestro and Stringers. Written by Helen Hopcroft, Cases tells the story of how a man (Jozef) came into possession of a precious alto saxophone in the turmoil of 1940 Paris. The play includes a number of particularly compelling cultural icons: Paris, jazz, vintage suitcases, history, unreliable narration and antique musical instruments. It’s a virtuoso storytelling performance that weaves together ideas about truth, desire and authenticity with some smokin’ live music. Inspired by classical guitar pioneer Francisco Tarrega, emerging theatre practitioner Joshua Anderson has put together a brand new monologue and live music performance. Maestro is a moving piece that talks about Tarrega's battles with his father, his all-consuming passion for music, and the age-old trade off between personal relationships and professional success. Cool! Wollongong-based creative team, Shane LadyMoon and Matt Houston (of LadyMoon Productions and Ironbark Photography, respectively) have created a sexy new piece called Stringers that explores how love songs often become the soundtrack to romantic relationships. Score! is the latest production by Mad Bitches Inc. producer, Helen Hopcroft.
