SHOW IS RATED: M

A story about art, love, heartache and discovery told through the perspective of internal monologue.

Perspex is the story of one woman's inner world, a story about art, love & value. How many choices are made daily that inherently stem from sliding door moments, is anything ever truly “random”. An anxious mind paired with an identity struggle left to its own devices in the early hours of the morning, what will be revealed and what will be left unhealed.
Every single day comes with a myriad of decisions and choices, starting with breakfast and ending with whom we choose to love.
Whether it be the right outfit or whether she should quit her job, this young woman is slowly realising the older she gets the more responsibility hangs on the line. When her inner world comes suddenly crashing down, this young woman starts to wonder how many of the choices she’s made have simply been impacted by a multitude of moments. An insight into patience, hope and healing taking a deep dive into why we make decisions, is it programming, is it destiny, is it a pre determined notion much prior to us even developing a strong sense of self. All she knows is that everything she knew is out the window and now its time to start again, but where?

"There is madness here, but it is magnificently maintained" https://www.timeout.com/sydney/comedy/thalia-joan-ex-pectations

Thalia-Joan weaves a deceptively clever and introspective tale as she riffs on fraught family dynamics and feeling disconnected in a relentlessly “connected” world. https://www.timeout.com/sydney/comedy/thalia-joan-too-much
